unjadED is in its pilot stage, and we’re currently inviting applications for our first Student Fellowship. Our first fellows will help shape what unjadED becomes: their experiences and feedback will directly inform the programmes we build. Following this pilot, we are planning to offer more ways for students to get involved globally!

For education organisations and decision-makers looking to involve students in their work, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you’re shaping a policy, designing a programme, or planning an event, get in touch to explore how we can work together.

  • Student Fellowship ✶

    Student Fellowship ✶

Calling all students aged 18–19 in England! Apply now to join our first-ever cohort of unjadED fellows, a five-week course running this autumn. We don’t care what school you’re at, who you know, or what’s on your CV, and you don’t need loads of experience or knowledge already. We just care that you want to learn about education systems: what they look like now and why, how we can imagine alternatives, and how you can help make that change happen. Tell us why you’re passionate about joining!

The fellowship runs over five weeks:

  • Residential weekend (13-15th November): We start in person, in a central location in England. You’ll meet the cohort, dive into the big questions, and build the foundations for the weeks ahead. Travel, accommodation and meals are fully funded.

  • Four online sessions (Saturday mornings): We meet weekly online to go deeper into specific topics equipping you to consult on current debates in education.

Throughout the fellowship, you’ll explore the big questions shaping education today:

  • What is your role in education change? Discover what you bring to the conversation, and start to see the system as something malleable.

  • What are the systems behind education? Map the stakeholders, constraints and ideas that shape how schools work.

  • What should be taught? Compare curricula from around the world and ask what gets included, what gets left out, and who decides.

  • How should it be taught? Explore approaches like project-based, place-based, and relational learning.

  • How should we measure learning? Look at the purpose of exams, portfolios and other assessments, and imagine alternatives.

  • How can we make sure every student can learn? Dig into debates on access and inclusion.

  • What is the role of technology in education? Weigh up the possibilities and risks of tech and AI in schools.

  • How can we work across cultures and generations? Build the confidence and communication skills to take your ideas into professional spaces.
